Jeff and his wife Anna live and work in the Dallas, Texas metroplex. As a musician, Jeff is well acquainted with what it's like to be moved by a musical performance or expression. The only way to approach capturing that moment is in a recording.

Likewise, through the medium of photography, He enjoys the artistic exercise of capturing a moment, memory or feeling and freezing it in time.

Jeff has received 1ST PLACE HONORS AND CASH AWARD in the 2017 JURIED ART SHOW, hosted by the Grand Prairie Arts Council in the Uptown Theater Lobby Art Gallery located in historic downtown Grand Prairie, Texas. Jeff's work titled 'State Fair' was awarded 1st place in the photography division. Additionally his works 'Wildermist' and 'Better Days II' were selected for exhibit. The exhibition will be on display from September 17-October 21, 2017. Mize's photographic works entitled 'Wildermist', 'Better Days II' and 'State Fair' will be featured along with works by other selected area artists. Jeff's work titled 'Last Show' was selected for inclusion in the JURIED INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, 'NIGHT WITH JUROR SEAN CORCORAN'. Corcoran is the curator for photographs and prints for the Museum of the City of New York. The event was hosted by The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO. Mize's photographic work was featured along with the works by other selected artists from June 17-July 23, 2016 in the Main Gallery. North Texas photographic artist Jeff Mize received 2ND PLACE HONORS AND CASH AWARD in the 2015 ANNUAL OPEN JURIED ART SHOW, hosted by the Grand Prairie Arts Council in the Uptown Theater Lobby Art Gallery located in historic downtown Grand Prairie, Texas. His photographic works entitled 'Last Show', 'Holdin' On' and the award winning 'Better Days' were featured alongside works by other selected area artists from September 20-October 12. Jeff had three works selected for inclusion in the JURIED 2015 RENAISSANCE EXHIBITION. The event is hosted by the Lake Granbury Art Association's, Shanley House Gallery, located in historic downtown Granbury, Texas.  Mize's photographic works entitled 'In the Shadow of Time', 'Gone for the Night' and 'Better Days' were featured along with works by other selected area artists throughout the month of February. Jeff Mize received double honors in the JURIED 4TH ANNUAL 'OPEN' ART COMPETITION, held in November 2014 through the Light Space and Time Gallery. 

Mize's photograph entitled 'Better Days' was named among the TOP TEN, 'BEST OF THE BEST' in overall competition. Winners were selected from 630 entries from 19 countries.In addition, Mize's 'A Place To Hang Your Hat' was awarded SPECIAL RECOGNITION Honors.
Both winning entries will remain on exhibit in the 2014 Exhibition galleries on the contest's official website www.lightspacetime.com
